How to set your search criteria

To run or schedule a report in Pulse, choose from one of the report categories available in the left-hand menu (for details see Available Reports):

Depending on the report category chosen you will have a number of options to choose from to achieve the report required.

Firstly choose whether to run the report for an Account or for Service Numbers. Choose the appropriate option under the 'Select By' heading:

Select By Account

To change the account you wish to run the report against (if you have sub-accounts beneath your own), click on the account name and follow the process as described in Switching the Account View.

Select By Numbers

To select specific service numbers against which to run the report against, click on the 'Select Numbers' button and follow the process as described in the Searching for Numbers and Selecting Numbers sections. Next choose the granularity by which you want to group the report data. Depending on the report category and type, the granularity options are:

  • Hour: Allows you to specify dates and times in resolutions of one hour. Reports are presented as an hourly breakdown

  • Day: Reports are presented as daily totals

  • Month: Reports are totals for the specified months

Set the type of report you wish to run from the options available under 'Report Type' - these will differ depending on the report category you are in - see Available Report Types for more details:

Report Types (using the Call Summary category as an example)

Finally, set the period over which you wish to run the report - the options available will differ depending on the report category you are in - see Available Report Types for more details:

Period (using the Call Summary, Calls, by Day as an example)

You're then ready to generate the report on screen by clicking on the button or if you simply wish to schedule a report with the specified criteria to be sent to you on a regular basis you can click on the button and follow the steps described in the Scheduled Reports section. Note, you do not have to generate the report on screen to add it to your schedule reports list.

If you generate the report on screen the data is displayed (where available) as both a chart and table on a single screen:

Report data chart and table

You're also given the option to download the report data (where available) in .CSV or Excel format - simply select the or option required.

If the report criteria is set such as it contains a large amount of data, for example multiple years worth of call summaries, then the following message will be displayed: "The report you have selected has too much data to display in a web page or is taking too long to process. Please review the report criteria to reduce the amount of data or consider using an equivalent report that allows the data to be downloaded directly, such as the 'Call Data Records Download." A link is then provided to take you back to the Pulse reporting suite to redefine the report criteria.

Also consider using the 'Scheduled Reports' option (if applicable) for reports that may be too large for immediate download.

For details of how long Call Data is stored for, please refer to the Data Retention Policy.
