The Call Barring function allows you to block calls to some or all of your service numbers based on the callers CLI. This allows you to stop unwanted or nuisance callers. It also allows you to avoid higher call costs on calls into Freephone Service Numbers from UK Public Payphones.
Call Barring is only available if your Service Provider has granted you access and you must be a Standard or Administrator .
If a callers CLI has been barred then they will hear the network message "The service cannot be connected" when they dial the service number. You will still get a record of the call within .
CLIs can either be barred for a whole account (and any sub-accounts below it) or for a specific Service Number.
To manage Call Barring, access the relevant page from the Home drop-down menu:
The default Search Call Barring page is displayed:
The left hand navigation panel provides 3 options, Search, and . The Add and Remove options will only be available if you are an Administrator user type. Search Call Barring The search page allows you to find call barring records that you or your sub accounts have created. You can use the 'Filter' drop down to find records based on a specific CLI, Service Number or Account. The example screen above shows one barring record that has blocked calls with a network CLI "1234567890" from calling all the numbers in the account named "A Communications Company Ltd". Note the Network CLI does not include leading zero's. The Account Owner column displays the account name that created the record. You can select the button to view audit information for the call barring record. There are two types of call barring available: 1. CLI barred from calling Service Number Allows you to block calls to specific service numbers. 2. CLI barred from calling Account Allows you to block calls to ALL numbers in a specific account.
