Service Templates is a useful feature that allows you to create complete or incomplete Service Designer Service Plans that can be stored on the platform. Service Templates can be accessed from the Manage -> Templates toolbar menu option. Also it can be opened in Service Designer and used as a starting point to create complete Service Plans.
Optionally your Service Templates can be shared to your sub accounts allowing your sub account users to open them in Service Designer and use them as a basis to create complete Service Plans.
The create template dialog will appear where you can provide a Name and Description for the Service Template. If you share the template it will be available to all users in your sub accounts who have been granted the permission to use templates.
It is also possible to create the template directly into one of your sub accounts by selecting a sub account from the account selector. A thumbnail image of your Service Plan will be automatically generated and will be saved with the new Service Template.
To select or manage existing templates, select the [Templates] menu option from the [Manage] drop down menu.
The Template Manager allows you to browse, select and delete existing templates. Templates that have been shared to your account can only be deleted or updated by the parent account.

To create a template you first design the Service Plan in the Service Designer in the same way as you would if your were . The Service Plan does not need to pass validation so mandatory settings do not need to be configured before you can save the template. Once your have designed your Service Plan on the Service Designer canvas, select the [Create Template] menu option from the [Save] drop down menu on the Service Designer toolbar.
At the top of each template panel is the name of the account where the template resides.
