Outbound Call
Outbound Call’s primary function is to allow callers to record their outbound calls, as opposed to ‘classic’ call recording which records inbound calls to a particular Service Number.
A typical scenario would involve the service user (a call centre for example) placing outbound calls by dialling a Service Number, then being prompted to key in the destination number they wish to dial – subject to certain configuration restrictions. Call recordings will be sent to a predefined email address or FTP server.
Outbound call does not necessarily need to be used in conjunction with call recording; services may be configured simply to allow outbound calls to be made by calling Service Numbers beginning 08 for example – the caller may then be allowed to key in a mobile number. This type of service may be offered by Service Providers who buy bulk mobile minutes which allows calls to be made on a lower tariff.
