This feature allows either the Calling Party ('A Party') or Called Party ('B Party') to break out of their conversation and navigate through the Mid Call sequence of nodes. In order for the Calling Party to invoke Mid Call Breakout, they need to be nominated as the 'Controlling Party' as defined in the . Mid Call is an 'entry point' node in a similar way to the Start or Post Call nodes – i.e. it is not preceded by a connection from another node. Key sequence 23 will put the Called Party into the Mid Call Breakout sequence, and key sequence 24 will put the Calling Party into the Mid Call Breakout sequence - regardless of which of the call parties actually invoked Mid Call Breakout. The parties will be reconnected together when the Mid Call sequence of nodes ends. Whilst the Mid Call Breakout sequence is taking place, the opposite party will hear simulated ringing or music-on-hold.
