Service Plan version history and full is available for all your Service Plans. Each time you change a Service Plan and update it using the Save option, a new current version will be created and appended to the version history. Service Plan versions are numbered sequentially beginning at 1 for a new Service Plan and are incremented by 1 for each new version.
When you have saved a new Service Plan or opened an existing one, the [Version] toolbar menu will be visible. When you select the [Version] menu option the following information panel and additional menu options are displayed:-
The information panel provides details of the Service Plan version. Service ID is the unique identifier for the Service Plan, This Version is the version number of the Service Plan you have opened (it is possible to open a previous version), Current Version is the version number of the latest version. The Created, By and Account provide details of the user who created this version of the Service Plan. If a change is made to this Service Plan and updated using the Save option, the information panel will be updated as follows:-
The information panel shows the version number has been incremented by 1. Version 2 is now the current version and will now be used for the active Service Plan.
It is possible to open a previous version of a Service Plan. This is useful if you would like to view a previous Service Plan configuration, or you may want to restore a previous version to the current version.
Select the [Version History] option from the [Version] menu to display the Service Plan Version History:-
The Service Plan currently open in the Service Manager is now version 3 and is also the new Current Version.
Using this functionality allows a previous version of a Service Plan to be restored and become the Current Version, but also provides the opportunity to view and make changes before saving as the new current version.
It is also possible to restore any previous version of a Service Plan to be the new current version without opening the version first. Simply select the Restore Version option for a specific version in the list. The following confirmation dialog will be shown:-
There is the potential that a service cannot be restored when a referenced object such as an Audio file, Skill Set or Data Table no longer exists, or you don't have access to it anymore. If the service fails to restore the first validation failure will be displayed in a popup and you will be given an chance to open and edit the service to resolve the validation failures.
We store a maximum of twenty versions of each service, with the most recent available. All previous versions are permanently deleted and unrecoverable. You can only access versions of the service which have been created when the service existed on your account, or a sub account that belongs to your account.
The list of Service Plan versions are shown in descending version number order with the latest current version being the first in the list. The Changes column shows how many individual changes were made from the previous version in the list. The above example shows there was 1 change between version 2 and version 1. Full details of the changes can be viewed by selecting the [View Change Log] menu option. See for further details. To open a specific version simply select the [Open Version] menu option for a specific version in the list. In the above example, when version 1 is opened the version information panel will be shown as follows:
This Version displays the version that has been opened and Current Version displays which version is the latest current version. An important note to make when you have opened a previous version of a Service Plan. If you save the Service Plan using the Update Service option in the window, a new current version will be created using the Service Plan configuration that is currently open in the Service Manager. In the example above where version 1 has been opened in the Service Manager, if the Service Plan is then saved using the Update Service save option, the version information panel will be updated as follows:-
